Our Mission
UMKA Cultural & Educational Center preserves and shares the Russian language and cultural traditions while creating a welcoming space for children and families of all backgrounds. Through language classes, academic enrichment, arts, and community activities, we help young learners build skills, friendships, and cross-cultural understanding.
Our Story
UMKA grew from a desire to give children a place to learn Russian and stay connected to their cultural heritage. As our community grew, so did our vision. We now welcome children who speak Russian at home, children who are just beginning to learn it, and families who are interested in our other educational and creative programs.
Our center in Bethlehem gives families a place to come together regularly, learn from one another, and build community.
Who We Welcome
UMKA welcomes families of all cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Some join us to maintain a connection to Russian language and culture. Others come for Spanish, math, chess, art, reading, or simply the chance for their children to learn alongside new friends.
No prior knowledge of Russian is required to participate in our beginner programs.
