The Russian Sunday Center in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to preserving and teaching the Russian language while fostering a welcoming, multicultural environment for learners of all backgrounds.

We serve children and families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and national origins who are connected by an interest in the Russian language and Slavic culture. Our community includes heritage speakers from Eastern Europe and Eurasia as well as English-speaking families and individuals in the United States who are beginning their journey in Russian language learning.

Operating on Sundays from September through June, the Center provides structured instruction in Russian language, as well as cultural studies, geography, and history for children and families living outside of Russia. Our curriculum is designed to nurture bilingualism, cultural awareness, and a lifelong appreciation of Russian heritage.

In addition to academic learning, we emphasize cultural engagement through traditional holiday celebrations, crafts, music, and interactive activities that help students build meaningful connections to culture and community. Our dedicated, Russian-fluent educators create a supportive and engaging environment where students can develop language skills, confidence, and friendships.

Our mission is to preserve Russian language and cultural identity while also promoting inclusion, cross-cultural understanding, and community connection in an increasingly diverse world. By welcoming learners of all backgrounds, we aim to build bridges between cultures and inspire a shared appreciation of heritage, language, and global citizenship.
